Housing firm WHG started the build of 66 high quality, affordable homes at Keelson Pointe development in Walsall in late 2015. The wellbeing scheme, due to be completed in May 2017 comprises of 66 homes to rent for those within the community aged 55 and over.
Split over four floors, there will be 33 one bedroom and 33 two bedroom self-contained apartments, alongside communal areas for social and leisure activities, treatment room, gardens with views of the Wyrley & Essington Canaland parking. Located on Carl Street, Leamore, the development is within easy access to local shopping, leisure, social and community facilities as well as s transport links.
The new homes are designed to give those aged 55 and over the opportunity to live as independently as possible whilst having access to additional support should they need it. Support packages available as part of the scheme includes home visits, regular leisure activities, care services as well as a designated care officer for the site.
