Local Information about Kingstanding
This area of north Birmingham lends its name to a ward in Erdington council constituency. (Kingstanding ward includes Perry Common, St Mary's College, Witton Lakes and some of Kingstanding, Wyrley Birch.) The area was mainly rural until 1928 when large-scale residential development began; it went on to become Europe’s largest council housing development.
